Steven W. Beasley, 49, of McPherson, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2008, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. Steven was born on June 15, 1959, at Wichita, Kansas, the son of Roscoe and Evelyn Kay (Egger) Beasley. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1977. On August 28, 1981, Steven was united in marriage to Kathern M. Higginbotham in McPherson. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving for four years. He had been employed at John's Manville Corporation since 1981, working there as an A-Maintainer.

Steven participated in Civil War Re-Enactments.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Thursday, Nov. 20, at the First Christian Church, McPherson, with Pastor Josh Bush officiating. Burial, with military honors presented by the American Legion Post #24 and the VFW Post #2715, will be at the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Survivors include: his wife, Kathern of the home; daughters, Cassie Martin and husband, Joel, of Milwaukee, WI and Christine Ayers and husband, Scott, of Hillsboro, KS; father, Roscoe Beasley of McPherson; sisters, Anita Beasley of McPherson and Kathleen Brick and husband, Tom, of McPherson; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Beasley.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Steven Beasley Scholarship Fund, a fund established for Mr. Beasley's grandchildren's education and can be sent in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 N.
