Rowena Albright

Rowena R. Albright, 87, of McPherson and formerly of Wichita, Kansas died Saturday, July 8, 2006, at Memorial Hopsital, McPherson. She was the daughter of Henry Franklin and Nancy Mary (John) Wampler. She was born in McPherson, Kansas. She had taught home economics at the Molton-Udell School in Iowa and had worked at Sears in Wichita in the customer service department. She graduated from McPherson College in 1942.

On August 27, 1941, she was united in marriage to Lyle C. Albright at Conway, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2004.

She was a member of the McPherson Church of the Brethren and Red Hat Society, volunteered at The Cedars Gift Shop, volunteered for the Wichita Art Museum and the Neighborhood Thrift Store in Wichita, and was a member of a local reading club and a china painting club at The Cedars.

Her survivors include: her daughter, Sylvia Dalton of Wichita, KS; sons, Stephen Albright of Nantucket, MA and Richard Albright of Dallas Center, IA; a sister, Donnis Fishburn of Angel, CA; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lyle, a brother, Kenneth Wampler; and a sister, Arlene Yoder.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 13, 2006, at the McPherson Church of the Brethren with Rev. Shawn Replogle & Rev. Kent Naylor officating. Inurnment of the cremains will take place prior to the memorial service on Thursday at McPherson Cemetery.
