Robert Nikkel

Robert D. "Bob" Nikkel, 63, of McPherson, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2009, at Salina Regional Health Center. He was an electrician for the NCRA Refinery, retiring after 38 years.

Bob was bon on July 12, 1946, in McPherson, Kansas, the son of Henry L. Nikkel and Martha Mae (Schierling) Scheikofsky. On June 15, 1985, Bob was united in marraige to Frona K. (Coker) Caruthers.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Thursday, September 24, at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. H. Dick Reynolds, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Survivors include: wife, Frona of the home; step-son, Rick Caruthers of Torrington, WY; step-daughters, Tamara Rader of Lindsborg, Elizabeth Vanek of Valley Center, and Julie Vogts and husband, Milton, of McPherson; sisters, Doris Anderson and husband, Don, of McPherson and Donna Graham and husband, Jim, of McPherson; half-sister, Gloria Birmingham and husband, Bo, of Wichita, KS; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
