Ramona Sumners

Ramona R. Sumners, 77, of McPherson, passed away on Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at The Cedars. Ramona was born on Feb. 6, 1931, in McPherson, KS, the daughter of John and Alida (Gustafson) West. She graduated from McPherson High School in 1950. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the American Baptist Women. On Feb. 16, 1963, she was united in marriage to Charley E. Sumners in McPherson, KS. She was a homemaker, a nurse aide at Northview Manor, dietary aide at Memorial Hospital, and a facilitator at Multi-Community Diversified Services (MCDS).

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 14, 2008, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Les Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Survivors include: her husband, Charley Sumners, of the home and son, Eddie Sumners and wife, Lynn, of McPherson. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Francis Gocke, and a brother, Carl Rueben West.
