Rael Blubaugh, 60, of McPherson, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013, along with her husband, Richard "Bogey", due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Reeds Spring, MO. Rael was a teacher, reading specialist, and para-professional for USD 418.

Rael was born on July 12, 1952, in Emporia, KS, the daughter of Raymond August and Dorothy Carmen Marcella (Stuewe) Schlesener. She graduated from Northern Heights High School in Allen, KS. She attended Emporia State University and graduated from Wichita State University.

On August 20, 1972, she was united in marriage to Richard A. "Bogey" Blubaugh in Emporia, KS.

She was baptized and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church in Council Grove, KS and was a member of Countryside Covenant Church, McPherson.

Survivors include: daughter, Lanell Griffith and husband, Brandon, of Topeka, KS; son, Todd Blubaugh of Seattle, WA; mother, Dorothy Schlesener of Council Grove, KS; sisters, Karen Calhoun of Allen, KS, Carol Tiffany and husband, Steve, of Council Grove, KS, and Lizzy Buller and husband, Brad, of Council Grove, KS; and two grandchildren, Jett & Jaxon of Topeka, KS.

She was preceded in death by her father.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Countryside Covenant Church with Rev. Tim Holgerson officiating. Burial will be at the McPherson Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 19, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Countryside Covenant Church with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
