Nellie Hannah Catron, 105, of McPherson, Kansas, died Friday, June 28, 2013, at the Cedars Health Care Center in McPherson.

Mrs. Catron was born March 17, 1908, to George W. and Annie (Hart) Collett near Cashion, Oklahoma. She married Carl Lee Catron on August 9, 1928 in Britton, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and three sisters.

She is survived by a son, Delbert D. Catron (Lois) of Greenville, Illinois, and a daughter, Ramona Zortman (Charles) of Sharon Springs, Kansas, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Catron and her husband lived on a farm near Piedmont, Oklahoma, until 1948 when the family moved to McPherson, Kanas. She managed the Central College dining facility except for a short interval when she and her husband returned to the Oklahoma farm. Following those years, they moved back to McPherson and she was in charge of the Tiger Den student snack bar at Central College, becoming famous for her homemade doughnuts and caramel rolls. She and her husband were loved and appreciated by students and staff. Mrs. Catron shared her sewing, cooking, and many other skills with others. She loved to give. She loved to play games. She loved people.

She was a faithful member of the Free Methodist Church and was active in church activities as long as her health allowed.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 1, 2013, at the McPherson Free Methodist Church, with Rev. Claude E. Griffith officiating. Graveside service will be at 4:00 PM Monday at the Cashion Cemetery in Cashion, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday at Stockham Family Funeral Home.
