Michael D. Stoudt

Michael “Mike” David Stoudt, 53, of Lindsborg, KS, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at his home in Lindsborg after a four year battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Mike was a computer operator for Farmers Alliance Mutual Insurance Company where he had worked for 30 years.

Mike was born on April 19, 1963, in Fitchburg, MA, the son of Dallas L. and Carole J. (Newman) Stoudt. He grew up in Blue Rapids, KS and graduated from Valley Heights High School. He then went on to earn an Associate Degree from Dodge City Community College.

Mike enjoyed taking long walks, especially through the cemeteries. He found contentment in solitude, although he did have many close friends. He also enjoyed reading, volunteering, and spending time with friends and family. Visits with him were full of reminiscing about the younger years. His faith in Jesus Christ was very important to him, especially in the latter years of his life. He was a very practical person and knew that cancer could take his life but was not bitter about it. He was thankful for the years that the chemotherapy and radiation gave him.

Survivors include: his parents, Dallas and Carole Stoudt of Manhattan, KS; brother, Greg (Cindy) Stoudt of Blue Rapids, KS; sisters, Cheryl Stoudt of Blue Rapids, KS, Julie Stoudt of Marysville, KS, and Kristie (Wes) Carnes of Waterville, KS; many nieces & nephews; and DPOA, Vaughn Ingram of McPherson, KS.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Harmony Christian Church, McPherson with Rev. Troy Schroeder officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to McPherson County Food Bank, Mt. Hope Sanctuary, Omega House, or Harmony Christian Church in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
