Matilda Ann Stout

Matilda Ann “Tillie” Stout, 88, of McPherson, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015, surrounded by family at The Cedars, McPherson. She had worked at the Rodney Milling Company and retired from CertainTeed Corporation in 1990.

Tillie was born on December 1, 1926, in Inman, KS, the daughter of Pete and Anna (Pauls) Friesen. She graduated from Inman High School in 1944 and attended McPherson College.

On October 17, 1954, Tillie was united in marriage to Clifton Ray “Corky” Stout in the Inman Mennonite Church, Inman, KS.

Tillie was a member of the McPherson Free Methodist Church. She participated in basketball, softball, and bowling and in her later years, she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles.

Survivors include: her husband, Clifton “Corky” Stout of the home; a son, Rick Stout and wife, JoLynn, of McPherson, KS; two grandsons, Christopher Stout and wife, Nicole, of Olathe, KS and Nicholas Stout of Gardner, KS; two great-granddaughters, Charleigh and Logan Stout of Olathe, KS; and sister-in-law, Nancy Friesen of Overland Park, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Anna Friesen, brother, John “Cot” Friesen, and sisters, Ella Mae Enns and Betty Ely.

The graveside service will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 4, 2015, at McPherson Cemetery with Rev. Tom Griffith officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Sunday, May 3, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.
