Mary Hill

Mary M. Hill, of Dallas, TX and formerly of McPherson, passed away February 18, 2011.

She was born October 23, 1939, in McPherson, Kansas, the daughter of Cleo R. Hill and Aenid (Gray) Hill. She was one of three children, and the only daughter, born to the Hill family.

Mary was a good friend to all and enjoyed life to its fullest. She was in the insurance industry and throughout her career was employed by Farmer's Alliance (in both the McPherson and Dallas offices), American States, CNA Insurance Co., and GEICO, all in the Dallas area.

A memorial service was held in Dallas at North Dallas Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 5, 2011.

A graveside service and inurnment of the cremains will be at McPherson Cemetery on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at 11:00 AM. Following the service, friends are invited to a celebration of Mary's life at a place to be announced at the service.

Survivors include: nieces Kathy Snider and Vickie Streithorst and their children and spouses; a sister-in-law, Janie Hill, all of Ohio; two cousins, Bruce Barngrover and son, Dale, of California, and Gloria Wolboch and family, of Nebraska; and Mary’s closest friends, Jo Chanslor, Diane Mattingly, Sarah Friesenhahn, Susie Stuart, Jodine Broscovak, Sharon Barnard and Kathleen Woodard; and many more friends that Mary has gathered throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Aenid of McPherson, her aunt and uncle, Floyd and Madalyn (Gray) Barngrover of Ventura, CA, and her brothers, Robert and Richard.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The COPD Foundation or other charity of the donor’s choice, in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson.

The mission of the COPD Foundation is to develop and support programs which improve the quality of life through research, education, early diagnosis and enhanced therapy for persons whose lives are impacted by Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
