Marcia Bengston

Marcia M. Bengston, 71, of McPherson, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at her home. Marcia was the Assistant Manager/Head Housekeeper at the Holiday Manor Best Western Motel where she had worked for 38 years, retiring in April of 2010.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson. A luncheon/reception will be held in the fellowship hall immediately following the service. A private interment and committal service will take place at the Andover Cemetery near Windom, Kansas. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:30 PM Friday at Stockham Family Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.

Survivors include: her husband, Arvid of the home; daughters, Arlene Sawatzky of McPherson, KS, Diane Hedberg (Matt) of Marquette, KS, and Nadine Kelling (Brian) of McPherson, KS; brother, Roy Harder of Wichita, KS; four grandchildren, Jordan and Spencer Sawatzky and Justin and Jessica Kelling; and two step-grandchildren, Will and Makaela Hedberg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence E. and Emma L. (Strouse) Harder, and a brother, Willis Harder.
