Kathleen A. "Kathy" Ball, 75, of McPherson, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at The Cedars, McPherson. She was born on April 9, 1933, in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of Harl L. and Beulah A. (Keedy) Russell. She graduated from Elgin (IL) High School in 1951 and from McPherson College in 1983. She was a former resident assistant and volunteer at The Cedars, real estate agent, worked in the development office at McPherson College, and was co-owner of Ball & Son Funeral Home, predecessor to Stockham Family Funeral Home.

Kathy was a member of the First United Methodist Church, P.E.O. Chapter EU, McPherson Park Board, McPherson College Board of Trustees, Rotary Club, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, Domestic Arts Club, McPherson Board of Realtors, and Sunflower Chapter Red Cross Board.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 12, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the New Gottland Lutheran Cemetery, rural McPherson, KS. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Her survivors include: son, Sam Ball and wife, Ellen, of Saunemin, IL; daughter, Jana Koehn and husband, Raydean, of McPherson, KS; sisters, Virginia L. "Ginny" Frantz and husband, Ed, of Wichita, KS, Sue A. Ewing and husband, Thom,of Madison, AL, and Pam J. Privett and husband, Keith, of Kimmell, IN; three grandsons, Aaron Koehn of New Orleans, LA, Alex Koehn of Kansas City, MO, and Sam E. Ball, II of Saunemin, IL.
