June Stuart

June C. Stuart, 87, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 7, 2012, at Harmony Home, McPherson. She had lived in Dodge City for 11 years until moving to McPherson in 1958, where she resided for the rest of her life. She was a homemaker.

She was born on June 2, 1925, in Thatcham, England, the daughter of Thomas H. and Florence (Nightingale) Stephens. In December of 1946, she was united in marriage to Phillip J. "Phil" Stuart. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2007.

June was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church, where she also belonged to the TLC group. She was a Cub Scout leader, and enjoyed painting and gardening.

Survivors include: son, Don Stuart and wife, Barb, of Hesston, KS; daughter, Cindy Ruiz and husband, Carlos, of Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren, Philip Stuart of McPherson, KS, Christopher Ruiz and wife, Elizabeth, of Eugene, OR, Heather Hamlin and husband, David, of Newton, KS, and Theresa Tapey of Albuquerque, NM; two great-grandchildren, Camden Tapey and Rosemary Ruiz; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, September 13, 2012, at St. Anne's Episcopal Church with Father Laird MacGregor officiating. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
