Jay Robertson

Jay B. Robertson, 70, of Galva, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2009, at his home. Jay was born on May 31, 1939, in rural Galva, Kansas, the son of James Bernard and Ailene Mabel (Burden) Robertson. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1958. Prior to retirement, Jay had worked at John's Manville for 20 years, Dillon's grocery store, and owned and operated the Kwik Shop store on west First St. in the early 1970's.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 18, at Galva Christian Church with Rev. Tripp Edwards officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday at Stockham Family Funeral Home, with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Survivors include: wife, Sue of the home; three sons, Jerry Robertson of Salina, Jeff Robertson and wife, Becky, of McPherson, and Jon Robertson and wife, Jane, of Salina; a sister, Carol Jackson and husband, Jerry, of Estes Park, Colorado; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Teresa Robertson.
