James Huff

James D. Huff, 80, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at his home in McPherson. James was born on October 6, 1929, in Bristow, Oklahoma, the son of Raymond D. and Rosie E. (Shelley) Huff.

On November 12, 1952, he was united in marriage to Edith C. Collins in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He was retired from McPherson Concrete Products after 26 years, working there as a pipe machine operator and truck driver. He also worked for Frank Black Pipe and Supply. James served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

James participated in the men's bowling league in McPherson for many years and was a member of the McPherson Bowling Hall of Fame.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 28, 2009, at the First Christian Church, McPherson. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Survivors include: his wife, Edith of the home; sons, Ronnie Huff (Lisa) of McPherson, Steven Huff (Donna) of McPherson, Phil Huff (Brandi) of Moundridge, Donald Huff (Denise) of McPherson, and Ricky Huff (Crystal) of McPherson; daughters, Mary Gesaman of McPherson, Kathy Grant (Lance) of Canton, KS and Janette Smith (James) of McPherson; brothers, Bill Huff (Patsy) of McPherson, Raymond Huff (Julie) of Topeka, KS, Leroy Huff (Sue) of Oregon, and Lonnie Huff of Salina, KS; sisters, Desi Brewer and Ora Garibaldi, both of Claremore, OK; 40 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond D. and Rosie E. (Shelley) Huff; brothers, Jim, Kenneth, and Roy; sisters, Irene Huff, Edna Huff, and Lola Lewis; great-granddaughter, Shaylynn Widener; and nephew, Louie Huff.
