Granville Elmo “G. E.” Shaw, 90, formerly of Valley Center, KS, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Pleasant View Home in Inman, KS. He was a Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army (retired) and also was a former Tennessee Highway Patrolman.

G.E. was born on August 14, 1927, in Tellico Plains, TN, the son of Wakeman “Buck” and Molly Lee (Phillips) Shaw. He graduated from County High School in Tellico Plains, TN. On September 8, 1967, G.E. was united in marriage to Vera Jean Goering.

Survivors include: his wife of 50 years, Jean of the home; eight sons, Ronald Shaw (Ann) of Tellico Plains, TN, Jimmy “Darrell” Shaw (Rhonda) of Santarem, Brazil, Robert Shaw of Etowah, TN, David Shaw of Etowah, TN, Dennis Shaw (Nanci) of McPherson, KS, Douglas Shaw (Penny) of New Jersey, Donald Shaw (Phyllis) of Wichita, KS, and Michael Shaw (Lisa) of Fort Leavenworth, KS; sister, Darlene White of Tennessee; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorothy Jones.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Pleasant Valley Church, 12002 W. 109th St. North, Sedgwick, KS 67135. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday at the church. Burial with Military honors provided by the Fort Riley Honor Guard will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
