Gerald T. "Ted" Hawkinson, 69, of Marquette, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at the Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. He was born December 31, 1938, the son of Arthur E. and Halcey Juanita (Godfrey) Hawkinson. He graduated from Marquette High School in 1956.

On November 8, 1963, he was united in marriage to Nola A. Christensen at Galva, Kansas. He was retired from the NCRA Refinery after 35 years, working as a leaderman in the de-coking unit. He also was a farmer.

Ted was a member of the Marquette United Methodist Church and former member of the Marquette Saddle Club.

His survivors include: his wife, Nola of the home; mother, Juanita Hawkinson of Marquette, KS; son, John Hawkinson of McPherson, KS; daughters, Amy Hawkinson of Lincoln, KS and Jill Baldwin of Windom, KS; brothers, Warren Hawkinson of Conway, KS and Earl Hawkinson of Wichita, KS; sisters, Linda Decker of Pittsfield, IL and Ardis Claypool of Marquette, KS; and six grandchildren.

The memorial service will be on Monday, February 18, 2008, at 10:00 AM at the Marquette United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Clemence officiating. The final disposition of the cremains will take place at a later date. Visitation is scheduled Sunday from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Marquette United Methodist Church.
