Elizabeth Elaine Anderson

Elizabeth Elaine Anderson, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at Pine Village, Moundridge. She taught elementary school for 35 years in California. She and her husband moved to McPherson, KS in 2011 from Yuba City, CA.

Elaine was born on May 23, 1937, in Viney Grove, Arkansas, the daughter of Emil Marvin and Margaret (Blakemore) Woodruff. She graduated from Los Angeles Pacific Christian College. On September 6, 1969, she was united in marriage to Alvin D. Anderson in Escondido, CA. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2013.

She was a member of McPherson Free Methodist Church.

Survivors include: sons, Larry D. (Ann) Anderson of McPherson, KS, Danny Anderson of Payson, AZ, and Eddie (Beth) Anderson of Alberta, MN; daughter, Christy Joy of Yuba City, CA; brother, Raymond (Laverna) Woodruff of Columbus, OH; sister, Margaret (Dick) Percival of Manteca, CA; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Mary Yost; son, Fred Eugene Anderson; and granddaughter, Hailey Anderson.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, November 28, 2016, at McPherson Free Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, Nov. 27, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
